BEFORE YOU CALL CHECK THE STEPS BELOW…

Motor

WHAT TO DO IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT

  • Do not accept responsibility or admit liability without consulting IPB Insurance.
  • Call the Gardaí or emergency services if necessary.
  • Record the name, contact details, vehicle registration and insurance information of anyone else involved in the accident.
  • Record the make, model and registration numbers of each vehicle involved.
  • Record the details of all the people involved and if they were wearing seat belts.
  • Record the name and contact details of any witnesses.
  • Take pictures if you have a camera or draw a sketch of the scene.
  • Notify IPB immediately of the incident.

IPB operates a FREE roadside and doorstep breakdown assistance service for private motor clients. The service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year subject to policy terms and conditions.

Property

IF YOUR PROPERTY IS DAMAGED:

  • Notify us immediately if you think the damage is covered by your policy.
  • Take any reasonable emergency steps to avoid further loss. This may include, where necessary, contacting a reputable builder immediately to arrange emergency repairs or boarding-up.
  • Ensure the property and its contents are secured at all times.
