We are pleased to report that incoming IPB Board Member John Hogan was formally announced as the new President of ETBI at their Annual Conference Dinner (sponsored by IPB) last night. He assumes the role from Councillor Jim Finucane, an IPB Nominee of Kerry ETB.
As the representative body for the ETB sector, ETBI promotes the development of education, training and youth work in Ireland. A critical role of ETBI involves advocating and negotiating at a national level with Government Departments, Trade Unions and a range of other relevant bodies on behalf of ETB members.
John serves as a County Councillor for Tipperary and has an unbroken record of public service since first being elected in 1999. He is currently Chairman of Tipperary ETB having been elected on 23 September 2014. During this time John has concurrently served on the ETBI Board and his appointment last night is due recognition of his tireless work at a local and national level for the ETB and broader education sectors over the past few years.
Congratulations and best wishes to John on his appointment and we wish him all the best during his tenure as President as he leads ETBI during a very transformative time for the sector as a whole.
