The 26th Annual National Irish Safety Organisation / Northern Ireland Safety Group (NISO/NISG) Safety Awards took place on 13 October 2017 at a special ceremony in Galway. Members of IPB, Longford County Council, Cork City Council and Fingal County Council, were recipients of awards on the night which recognise continuously improving health and safety performance. The awards are highly valued and regarded among health and safety professionals throughout the island of Ireland.

Over 100 awards were presented by Harry Galvin, NISO President, John Thompson, Incoming NISG chair, and Seán Kyne T.D., Minister for Rural Affairs and Natural Resources to organisations.

Longford County Council was presented with the Silver Award for the overall competition. Cork City Council and Fingal County Council both took home High Achiever Awards which were presented to organisations that consistently achieved a high standard of safety in the competition for more than five years, representing their continuous commitment to health and safety in their organisation.

IPB has worked closely with local authorities to improve health and safety and risk management in their organisations. IPB is delighted to see our Members’ exemplary efforts being recognised.
