Please note that this Portal is not in place to address reports or complaints relating to road surface conditions which should be directed to the relevant road authority.
* Repair or maintenance of a road surface, irrespective of condition, is not a legal requirement and does not automatically give rise to legal liability. A valid claim must relate to a negligent act in creating the defect. No claim can be made for basic wear and tear or failure of a roadway.
If you feel you have a valid claim of negligence, please contact your local authority specifying that you wish to make a pothole related damage claim.
Your Local Authority will advise you of the next steps, take initial details or provide you with a PIN to complete your detailed submission below.
Once you have submitted details of your claim, it may be necessary for IPB to engage an investigator or engineer to visit and examine the location or to seek out archived records relating to the construction and maintenance history of the roadway. If this is necessary, such record examination may take some time and your patience is appreciated. Details/images of the claim location and damage will be shared with the Local Authority.
