Niamh is Head of Reinsurance at IPB Insurance. She is responsible for the development and execution of the Reinsurance Strategy for IPB Insurance.
Niamh has over 20 years’ experience in the insurance market, with over 15 years employed in the reinsurance sector. Before joining IPB Insurance, Niamh held the role of Reinsurance Manager in FBD Insurance.
Niamh holds the designation ‘ACII’ (Chartered Insurer) from the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) and a Batchelor of Arts in International Insurance and European Studies from the University of Limerick.
Liam is Head of Compliance for the company. He joined IPB in 2018 and has over 30 years’ experience in the financial services industry.
He has a B. Comm from UCD and qualified as a Chartered Accountant while working in Deloitte. He also holds the designation of the Licentiate of Compliance Institute and is a Certified Data Protection Officer.
Prior to joining IPB, Liam held a number of senior Compliance, Risk and Finance roles during 25 years in Aviva Ireland.
He also worked in the civil service, as Head of Compliance in the Department of Finance and was senior compliance manager in the Irish branch of the UK’s Nationwide Building Society.
Francesca is the Head of Business Development at IPB Insurance. Francesca has responsibility for ensuring IPB maximise opportunities with our key Brokers, Members & Partners by identifying & executing profitable business opportunities and by leading and developing long-term business growth strategies.Prior to this, Francesca was the Regional Distribution Manager for Travelers Insurance. Francesca has over 17 years’ experience in the insurance industry and prior to Travelers Insurance her previous roles include Sales Executive & Commercial Broker with Willis Towers Watson and Claims Handler with Allianz Insurance.
Francesca graduated from Dublin City University in 2008 with an Honors Bachelor of Business Studies and holds the CIP designation from the Insurance Institute of Ireland.
Conor McCourt is the Head of IT and Strategy, Information Security Officer at IPB Insurance. Conor joined IPB in February 2011. He is responsible for the oversight and management of the IT Function which manages the IT systems, operations and infrastructure for the organisation. As Information Security Officer, Conor is responsible for ensuring best practice Cyber controls, procedures and Cyber awareness training is in place to ensure that the organisation data assets are secure.
Conor has over 25 years of IT experience and Leadership experience. Before joining IPB Conor was the Head of IT for Willis Risk Services Ireland where he held many technical and leadership positions over 13 years. Conor holds a Masters Degree in the Management of Operations from Dublin City University and is a Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP) and member of good standing of the global Information Security body, ISC2.
Tom Keane is Head of Stakeholder Engagement & Corporate Social Engagement (CSE) at IPB Insurance, where he is responsible for the strategic management of IPB’s relationships with key external stakeholders and strategic delivery of its Corporate Social Engagement programme.
Tom’s role focuses on the active management of political and reputational risk through effective engagement with Member-related representative bodies, Government, regulators, industry associations, strategic partners, community organisations and the public. He advises IPB’s Board and Leadership Team on stakeholder-related risks and opportunities, leads the development and implementation of IPB’s Reputational Risk Management Framework, and supports informed decision-making through stakeholder impact analysis and reporting.
Tom is also responsible for the strategic direction of IPB’s Corporate Social Engagement Programme, ensuring that it delivers meaningful, measurable impact for Members and communities across the country and aligns with IPB’s mutual ethos, values and long-term strategy.
Tom holds a BSc in Management (Trinity College Dublin) and an Advanced Diploma in Marketing, and is a member of the Insurance Institute of Ireland, the Marketing Institute of Ireland and the Public Relations Institute of Ireland.
Frank Cunneen is Head of Investments at IPB Insurance. He heads a team of three investment professionals and is responsible for all aspects of managing the investment assets of IPB. Prior to his appointment as Head of Investments in May 2018, Frank was Portfolio Manager within the investment team at IPB Insurance for the previous 10 years. All investment decisions are made in house and are governed by investment parameters as set by the Board of Directors through the approved Investment Policy.
Prior to joining IPB Insurance, Frank held roles of equity trader and credit analyst at Davy and Bank of Ireland respectively. Frank holds a Bachelor of Commerce from University College Dublin (UCD) and a Masters in Business Studies from the Michael Smurfit School of Business.
Laura has been with IPB Insurance since 2018 and previously held the role of Senior Risk Advisor until she was appointed Head of Sustainability in September 2022. Laura has a B.Sc. in Environmental Health, is a Chartered Fellow of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) and has 20+ years’ experience of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) and Enterprise Risk Management in both the public and private sectors. Laura previously worked with Tallaght University Hospital, the Irish Health Services Accreditation Board (now HIQA) and UDG Healthcare plc.
Laura has a research Masters in Health and Safety and recently achieved a Professional Certificate in Governance with the IPA in 2021 and an Advanced Diploma in Planning and Environmental Law with the Kings Inns in 2022.
Laura is responsible for facilitating the company’s sustainability strategy and working to support our Members, as public bodies, who have pivotal role in the decarbonisation transition. Laura also supports IPB on Environmental, Governance and Social (ESG) related projects as well as being an active member of the IPB Diversity and Inclusion Committee.
Alison Farrelly is the Head of Claims Litigation having joined IPB in 2004. She oversees the management of claims at an individual, team and strategic level, informing and influencing the claims functions’ approach and strategy on matters arising within the arena of claims litigation. She leads a large team of claims professionals directly involved in the management of technically demanding claims, delivering service excellence, best handling practice, and exceptional value in terms of cost and outcome of claims to Members, Policyholders, and stakeholders.
She is also responsible for the direct handling of IPB’s most significant claims within the complex and litigated portfolios including those that are subject to Reinsurance.
Alison has extensive experience over the past two decades in the insurance industry having previously held, Head of Claims roles in Insurance and Reinsurance in Ireland. Alison holds a BA in Law and a BA in Economics.
